Linguine

Linguine is a long Ligurian pasta shape, similar to spaghetti but with a flat, slightly convex section that captures the sauce. Originally called trenette, linguine was created to accompany Genoese pesto and is also excellent with seafood sauces, vegetables, or "white" cheese-based sauces.
